"TENNIS MENACE - NOT A WAREHOUSE"

Frequently Asked Questions

1) How do I place my order?
a) All orders paid by credit card, should be placed using our Secure Online Order Form.
We do not accept credit cards not issued in the U.S. with the possible exception of Amex.
If paying by another method, simply leave out the fields pertaining to credit card info.
Please read directions beforehand, so that you are aware of all of our terms & policies.
See item #10 for details on acceptable payment methods for domestic & international sales.

2) What are the shipping costs?
a) Determined for each order & destination. We thus need the complete order as well as
your complete address, to quote the cost of shipping. We do not offer flat rate shipping!
When we are paid by CREDIT CARD, the ONLY available method of shipping is UPS, or in some cases Priority Mail. A Signature is Required Upon Delivery, via either method.
Other methods of payment allow us to ship via WHATEVER MEANS the buyer requests.
The most common being Priority Mail or for international sales Priority Air Mail.
We can't use your UPS or Fedex account, when we are paid by credit card. We can do so
if we are paid by Paypal (with restrictions), or U.S. Postal Money Order in Advance.

3) I do not see a price. It just says "NA", so what is the price?
a) "NA" means that the item is currently Not Available. We continue to list it, as we may
have recently sold one and may get more in the future. Check the site's listing often, as
it may again be available & would be listed with a price.

4) Why is the item I want so expensive? "I paid much less in the past".
a) The price of a specific item is based upon many factors. Availability & thus price is
ultimately dependent upon supply & demand. You may inquire, if a competitor has a better
price on a current product & we will see if we can make an adjusment. Discontinued items,
that are no longer available from their manufacture will not necessarily be the same price
now as they were in the past. These products, which can be quite rare, are often obtained
from sources around the world, & our costs to acquire them can possibly be extremely high.
We thus rarely negotiate prices, so if you are not willing to pay the listed price, chances
are the price we listed is the final price.

5) I found the same racquet at a competitor, for much less. Why?
a) Most people are not aware of the little games many racquet manufactures play. Sometimes
discontinued racquets are brought back to market years after they have been taken off the
market. These look alike racquets are often similar in appearance only. The manufacturing
tolerances and even the overall design of these racquet's structures can be in many cases
entirely different. Unfortunately this done by most of the major racquet manufactures. It
would be honest of companies such as Prince, Wilson, and Head to inform you, their loyal
customers, that they are being offered products that may be different from originals.
However do not hold your breath waiting for that to happen. To them it's just business.
We do not sell any of these re-issue racquets. Everything we offer for sale, is original.
Obviously, if you find the same item for less somewhere else, we recommend you buy
it from whichever dealer gives you the best overall value for your dollar. Do consider
service and workmanship, not just who has the lowest price.

6) What grip sizes are available?
a) We list the grip sizes, on discontinued racquets in most cases. If size is not listed,
contact us. Current models are available in all the grip sizes the manufacture produces.
Grip size are 0=4", 1= 4 1/8, 2= 4 1/4, 3= 4 3/8, 4= 4 1/2 5= 4 5/8, (in rare cases 6=4 3/4.
We abreviate by our listing sizes as simply 0, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4. Sizes can easily
be increased by one size & we do not advise more than a two size increase. In some cases the
grip size can also be reduced. Some racquets can have their grips replaced with new pallets.

7) What is the condition of the racquet listed?
a) All our racquets are Brand New, unless otherwise indicated. A condition legend with our
detailed explanation of the racquet condition differences, is located close to the top of the
racquets page. We don't sell used racquets that have been structuraly damaged in any way.
Other than their having some cosmetic issues, all used racquets are like they were brand new.
There are no cracks, no wear to the racquets graphite material, no damaged grommets, nothing!
We meticulously check each racquet. We're highly aware of the damage that racquets can endure
they are subjected to high heat, such as being stored in a hot automobile. If they are not 100%
perfect, we do not sell them. We have a impeccable reputation to maintain.

8) What are your policies pertaining to stringing?
a) All discontinued racquets, with prices in "Green" are sold only with stringing @ $14.95 +
the price of any string listed on our string page. Current models, that are listed with their
prices in "Black or Red" are not required to be strung, however stringing is available at the
same rate, $14.95 + the price of any of the listed strings that we list on our string page.

8) Why should I get my racquet strung by Tennis Menace?, I can get it strung locally.
Tennis stringing is both a Science and an Art. The experience & the know how of racquet
stringers varies, just like that of a Doctor. If you don't care that much about how well
your racquet gets strung, which may directly influence how well it performs, as well as
how the strings hold up, get it strung by just anyone. If you desire peak performance
from your racquet, as well as the best durability your racquet and string combination
can deliver, it should be strung by someone who really cares. If we didn't do a better
job, how could we expect you to be a repeat customer? All racquets are strung by owner
Howard Matthews. I have over 36 years of racquet sales and stringing experience & hold
a U.S.R.S.A. Master Racquet Technician Certification. All those years working behind a
stringing machine as well as my level of education simply lead to your getting a better
stringing. For more info on my educational credentials, as well as specifics on string
issues, read the Custom Racquet Service and Tennis Elbow pages in their entirety, also
the detailed info you will find on this subject, near the top of the String page.

9) What are Grommets & why are they so important?
a) Grommets which also include the Headguard are the little plastic tubes each of the
strings go though as they pass through the racquet frame. Grommets protect the strings
from being damaged by the sharp edges of the string holes & protect the racquet from any
damage by the garrote like effect of the tensioned string. The "Headguard / Bumperguard"
protects the racquet from abrasion due to the racquet coming into contact with the court
surface. If your racquet does not have intact grommets, it can't be strung properly.

10) What forms of payment do you accept?
a) U.S. customers; U.S. issued Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Ameican Express, U.S. Postal Money Orders,
Bank Account or Balance funded Paypal. We don't accept Credit or Debit card funded Paypal payments.

b) Outside the U.S., American Express?, International Postal Money Orders?, Western Union Wires,
Bank Account or Balance Funded Paypal, or Bank Wires (Additional Fees Apply). All in U.S. Dollars!

11) Will you ship to a location other than the billing address of card? (in U.S. Only!)
a) Yes!, if your Visa or MasterCard issuer has alternate "ship to info" on file, and is willing to verify
that information, when we contact them. If your card issuer will not verify, we can't process your order.
If you use AMEX or Discover, we only ship to billing address!

12) Why will you only ship to an address my card issuer will verify?
a) We do this to protect you!, as well as ourselves against credit card fraud. Anyone who ever had access
to your card, would otherwise have all the info needed to place an order using the card #, expiration date
security code & your name, to order goods and have them shipped wherever they wanted. While you of
course wouldn't be liable for such charges, it would still create a nuisance for you as well as a chargback
for the merchant. Tennis Menace has never experienced a fraudulent transaction, due to our being so careful.

13) Why do you require a signature upon delivery of C.C. orders?
a) This is a requirement of your card issuer, not ours! All credit card issuers require a signature upon
delivery when the card is not present at the point of sale. We do not make any exceptions to this. If you
know that no one will not be available to sign for the shipment at the billing address location, see above,
or you can pick up the item from your local UPS facility after you make such arrangements with UPS.
Changing the delivery address with UPS after we have shipped, results in additional charges to your credit
card, since UPS charges us for the change in delivery location, after a package has already been shipped.

14) What are your return policies & warranties?
a) Tennis Menace is not the warrantor of the products sold. The individual manufactures warrant their goods.
In some cases these manufactures are no longer in business, so there are no longer any warrantees in place.
Once a product has been used, all warrantees are dealt with by the manufacture. We'll assist you if desired.

b) We accept returns on a case by case basis, and you must obtain a Return Authorization prior to doing so.
Products must be returned to us in the same condition they were in when we shipped them. Open packages,
or racquets or strings that have been used, are not returnable to us for refunds. Restocking fees may apply
when goods are returned to us. You will be informed of any such restocking fee's along with your receiving
Authorization to Return. If TENNIS MENACE made the error, we will make you whole again.
Unless "WE MADE AN ERROR", the original. cost of shipping is NOT REFUNDABLE.
Unless "WE MADE AN ERROR" the cost of return shipping to us is YOURS ALONE.
We may be willing to buy back products that have been used, AT OUR DISCRETION.

You will asked if you have read & agree to these policies when you place order on our Order Form.
You will again be asked if you agree to these terms, when you provide your final approval for us
to ship your order. You will thus have twice agreed to these terms before we ship your order!
